We’re celebrating Chardonnay at Squerryes with our very first Chardonnay Festival, centred around the launch of our new vintage Blanc de Blancs 2020. Everyone is invited for a tasting!

Made exclusively from Chardonnay grown here on the Estate, this is a wine we’ve been eagerly waiting to share. Join us for a celebration of the grape in all its forms, with tastings, food pairings and plenty of opportunities to discover what makes Chardonnay such a special part of the Squerryes story, as well as the versatility of this grape and some great wines chosen by our Master of Wine.

What’s happening:
Blanc de Blancs Tasting Day – Saturday 10th October, 9.30am – 3pm
Join us to celebrate the launch of our new Blanc de Blancs 2020. Members and their plus ones are invited to enjoy a complimentary glass, while visitors can discover the wine with a tasting. We’re pleased to welcome The Oyster Buoys for the day too, with their freshly shucked oysters, the perfect pairing with our new vintage. There will also be cheese boards available, the café will be open for snacks, plus the restaurant for lunch, bar snacks or dinner

A World of Chardonnay – Master of Wine selected case
Explore the diversity of Chardonnay with a specially curated case selected by our Master of Wine, Laura Evans. Featuring a selection of UK and international wines, including our own Squerryes Blanc de Blancs, the case showcases how dramatically Chardonnay can vary depending on where it is grown and how it is made. Available to order online or pick up from the Cellar Door. £182 (£162 non-members)

A taste of Chardonnay in the Winery Restaurant
Join us in the Winery Restaurant for a special Chardonnay tasting flight, featuring a selection of wines that showcase the incredible versatility of this much-loved grape. Taste your way through different styles and expressions, from our own Squerryes Blanc de Blancs to carefully selected wines from the UK and beyond, and discover how place, climate and winemaking can shape Chardonnay in the glass.

Chardonnay & cheese tastings in the Estate Deli & Cellar Door
Visit the Estate Deli & Cellar Door every week throughout October for a Chardonnay tasting, featuring a different wine each week, showcasing the incredible variety of this much-loved grape. From fresh and vibrant to rich and creamy, discover different styles and expressions, chosen by our resident Master of Wine, each paired with a carefully chosen British cheese.
