Bridging the Skills Gap – give your child the EDGE at Caterham School

Young people today are stepping out into a vastly different, fast paced world. At Caterham School, we know young people need top grades to open doors of opportunity but also a professional skillset to thrive. It’s our responsibility as educators to create a pathway that ensures pupils develop and acquire these vital skills – not just throughout their learning journey, but into their adult life.

Our award-winning EDGE programme is a bespoke, dynamic curriculum, that is rooted in research and designed by innovation experts at Caterham School with input from across the professional world. EDGE bridges the gap between traditional education and the rapidly changing world of work. Pupils from First Year to Upper Sixth have dedicated lessons in which to develop their technology, problem solving, teamwork, project management, and entrepreneurial expertise. Such is the success and popularity of EDGE, Caterham School has gone one step further, launching a GCSE equivalent qualification to fill the skills gap and prepare young people for an AI enabled future. The Key Stage 4 course (for pupils in Years 10 & 11) is recognised by UCAS and has been developed in partnership with Nottingham University Business School and Enactus UK, the social entrepreneurial education charity. The course combines academic business theory with creativity, innovation, real-world problem solving and ethical AI, placing social impact at the heart of learning.

Caterham School is an ambitious, high achieving day and boarding school, named Best UK Independent Senior School by the Times Educational Supplement. We ensure young people reach great heights, in the UK and globally, by gaining top grades, by becoming problem solvers and innovators, and by never letting go of the kindness and consideration that is the hallmark of our school.

So, if you want to give your child the ‘EDGE’ at Caterham School, book a place to find out more at our next visitor morning, Wednesday 24 June.
