New health services for eye conditions in Sevenoaks

People living in Sevenoaks who are experiencing troubling eye symptoms such as blurry vision, light sensitivity and floating shapes, can now have their eyes examined by an eye specialist, also known as a Consultant Ophthalmologist, on their doorstep.

It’s normal for eye health to deteriorate as you get older and the optical biometry service at Sevenoaks Medical Centre has everything you need for a quick diagnosis and treatment.

Cataracts is a common condition that can start to develop from the age of 40. Over time, the condition can worsen with more than 50% of people over the age of 80 either having cataracts or having surgery to remove it.

If you are suffering from concerning eye symptoms, it may be a good time to check in with an Ophthalmologist to assess your eye health. Some troubling symptoms may include:

  • Clouded, blurred vision
  • Sensitivity to light and glare
  • Trouble seeing at night
  • Double vision in one or both eyes
  • Frequent changes in your glasses or contact lens prescription
  • Floating shapes in field of vision
  • Eye strain

As a patient at Sevenoaks Medical Centre, you can take advantage of the direct pathway into KIMS Hospital in Maidstone for cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, corneal and eye disease, and eye misalignment or squint corrective procedures.

Visit www.kims.org.uk/opthamology for more information, and to book an appointment with Mr Syed Taseer Hasan, Consultant Ophthalmologist. You can also call the team directly on 01732 775800.
