PARENTING THROUGH TEENS – A NEW 6 WEEK COURSE HOSTED BY THE Ü CLINIC

We prepare for babies. We read the books, attend antenatal classes and build a support network around us. But when those babies become teenagers and family life changes all over again, parents are often left wondering: Is this normal? Am I handling this right?

Launching this autumn, Parenting Through Teens is a new six-week course, hosted by The Ü Clinic in Riverhead, Sevenoaks, designed to offer the knowledge, practical tools and community that parents need to navigate the adolescent years with greater confidence.

Led by Dr Shiv, GP & Lifestyle Medicine Specialist, and Carleen Kirk, Child & Adolescent Therapist, the course combines clinical insight into the changing teenage mind and body with practical strategies for everyday family life. Both are parents of teenagers themselves, bringing personal experience alongside their professional expertise.

Across six weekly sessions, you’ll explore the biology and psychology of adolescence, communication and repairing relationships after conflict, teenage relationships, lifestyle, social media and social connection – as well as the often-overlooked importance of looking after yourself as a parent.

Think of it as an NCT course for the teenage years: a place to learn, ask questions and, importantly, meet other parents navigating the same stage.

The course is suitable for parents and carers of children in Year 5 and above and isn’t just for families experiencing difficulties. Its focus is preventative – helping you understand what’s happening before challenges escalate.

When: Tuesdays, 3 November–8 December 2026, 6.30–8.30pm
Where: The Ü Clinic, 74 London Road, Riverhead, Sevenoaks
Cost: £299 per person
