IES was born out of a desire to provide personalised, bespoke advice and support to parents and children with special educational needs.  As a specialist diagnostic assessor, I offer dyslexia assessments as well as screening for dyscalculia. My reports are detailed and contain individualised advice to parents and schools in how to support progress going forward.  Recommendations could also include exam access arrangements or further investigation for other areas of SEN if required.  Assessments can be undertaken at the child’s school, home or in my office in Brenchley depending on individual preference.
I have worked in the SEN field for over 18 years as a Senior Leader in the maintained and independent sector from ages 2-16 and can offer advice and advocacy services for families seeking support.  I also provide training services for schools, SENCOs and parents on various areas of special educational needs and am currently hosting parent workshops on early literacy and dyslexia across schools in the local area.

My daughter had a dyslexia assessment carried out by Michelle. The report was detailed and gave plenty of good suggestions of how to support her both in school and at home. She has come on so well since her assessment – her reading age has improved to her age and she has gone up 4 book band levels at school. The assessment took place in school so was in a known environment and my daughter didn’t even know the assessment was an assessment – ideal!

It has been wonderful working with Michelle during her time in Cairo, Egypt.
